Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 review3 minute read

Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 follows the first instalment of Lego Marvel Superheroes and continues the battle of superheroes versus supervillains. This time around, reality can be moulded like clay.

Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 allows the player to join The Avengers, Guardians and Inhumans, as they battle villains in the time-tossed land called Chronopolis. In the centre of all this madness, lies Kang the Conquer, a mad villain who feeds of the chaos and destruction caused by this space scrambled city.

The game contains new characters, such as Captain Marvel, Old West Captain America, Gladiator Hulk, Giant Man, Lockjaw, Fing Fang Foom and loads more, Lego Marvel Superheroes can take you through 18 different world from your favourite comics. It has 20 levels in the main story, all available for free play, special Gwenpool levels, over 25 races, hundreds of tasks, 255 gold bricks to collect and days of gaming fun. It’s great for kids and young adult gamers and even better when friends join in. It can be played in multiplayer, locally and online. This can be played on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Avengers Assemble

Whilst playing, I found that there was plenty of different types of fun, from levels, boss battles, puzzles, battle areas, and tasks. This is a very long game and will take a while to complete it. The main story only takes up around 25% of the actual gameplay.  This definitely means you can get your money worth as there is added longevity.

One annoying thing I did find is that there are not enough studs throughout the levels. This causes an issue, especially when you want to buy characters you’ve unlocked through tasks. It feels like you have worked for something, and the reward isn’t quite there. It’s fun collecting characters, but unlocking them seems a little laborious. While Lego have developed the game from the original instalment of Lego Marvel Superheroes, I feel like it could have included some newer content, with some tasks being very similar to the first, but still enjoyable to play.

George’s Conclusion

Playing through the game, I feel like some areas are quite difficult, especially if you’re not a great gamer or new to the gaming world. This is why I would recommend watching all the videos in between levels, just so you know what you’re doing and how to achieve the tasks set out. This will definitely help any gamer in the long-run.

Overall, I think it’s a great game, with loads to play and do. It has tons of hours of fun and offers action, puzzles, adventures, and many different activities. Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 takes you through the wonderful land of Lego, where you find yourself in a new world every few minutes. This is definitely worth a play, on all consoles.
