With the E3 exhibition streams completed this week it is now a great time to look back and reflect on what has been offered to the gamers for the coming year or so. Nintendo had a fantastic event and highlighted some great games that are coming our way this year, or in 2022. Below are our picks for what we consider to be the top highlights from Nintendo’s 2021 E3 presentation.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania
In celebration of yet another anniversary, Super Monkey Ball celebrates 20 years with a brand new game coming to the Nintendo Switch October 5, 2021.
Mario Party Superstars
Mario Party Superstars is a blend of old and new as it recreates five classic boards from the Nintendo 64 entry to the franchise. The game will contain more than 100 mini-games and also enables online play into the franchise. The game will be launched on October 29, 2021.
Metroid Dread is a return to the 2D roots of the franchise. The game looks like an amazingly polished version of the classics which we grew up playing, with some amazing features, gameplay mechanics and more. The original music has remained within the franchise to give a pure shot of nostalgia. The game launches October 8, 2021.
WarioWare: Get It Together!
WarioWare has always been a popular game since the first first title landed on the Game Boy Advance. The popularity soared after the Nintendo Wii saw WarioWare Smooth Moves and since then it has been highly anticipated that the Nintendo Switch might get its own version. Well that will happen on September 10, 2021 as Nintendo highlighted their launch trailer at E3.
Shin Megami Tensei 5
Coming to the Nintendo Switch is Shin Megami Tensei 5 which brings a post-apocalyptic version of Tokyo to gamers worldwide on November 12, 2021. The E3 showcase highlighted an amazing trailer and there was also a glimpe of some gameplay too. This will definitely be a title worth adding to your Nintendo Switch collection.
Advance Wars 1 + 2 Re-Boot Camp
These two games originally released on Game Boy Advance to a high level of popularity. Now they have been reworked from the ground up and will be released in one package for the Nintendo Switch. The game will be released December 3, 2021.
Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda
To celebrate the anniversary for The Legend of Zelda, Nintendo are releasing a brand new Game & Watch. The device matches the one they released last year for Super Mario‘s 35th anniversary and will have three original games as well as some mini-game and extra’s. The whacky device will be available November 12, 2021.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel
Aimed for a release in 2022 the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of the most anticipated games for the Nintendo Switch. With a trailer released at the E3 presentation that leaves gamers with many question it will surely be a game that reaches as much critical acclaim as its predecessor.
